Healing Feels Like Breaking on Purpose

Healing isn’t a spa day. It’s demolition. It’s ripping out emotional drywall with your bare hands while trying not to bleed on the blueprint. This piece lives in that twisted space—where getting better hurts worse than being broken. There’s nothing clean about it. No soft light. Just the raw, conscious decision to tear yourself open in hopes of rebuilding something honest.

The fractured typography mirrors that tension—deliberately mangled, like someone hit “undo” on their identity and kept going. It’s not tragic, it’s transformative. But let’s not romanticize it. Healing is a f***ing knife fight with your past—and sometimes you’re holding the blade wrong. This poster just admits it.

Technique:

Started as a scribbled note in my notebook—the kind you write at 1:00 a.m. and circle twice. I pulled it into Illustrator and intentionally tore the type apart. The grit, the imbalance, the pressure—all by design. Even the colour screams: look here, this hurts.
