We Chase Peace Like It Owes Us
Modern life sells peace like itâs a product you forgot to order in time. But peace doesnât show up in 2â5 business days. And it sure as hell doesnât owe us anything. This piece is about the wild contradiction of chasing serenity with clenched fists and gritted teethâburning out in the name of âbalance.â
We grind through yoga schedules, breathwork apps, therapy soundbites, hoping one of them will just⊠fix it. But peace isnât transactional. Itâs not a damn reward for suffering long enough.
The raw, erratic lettering plays with this tension, half desperate, half demanding. And the butterflies? Theyâre ironic. We want peace to land, but we scare it off with how loudly we chase it.
This one calls it out: peace isnât a payoff. Itâs a practice. And most of us are sprinting in the wrong direction.

Sketched during a moment of full-blown burnout. Digitally executed in Illustrator, using a glitchy, hand-scuffed type style layered over a synthetic calm. The contrast between the rawness of the message and the visual softness is intentionalâlike yelling into a meditation playlist.
